About this Blog: FAQs
Who is this blog for?
Our target audience is small service-business entrepreneurs, such as consultants, CPAs, attorneys, engineers, freelance writers, landscape architects, general contractors, wedding planners, … you get the idea. Much of this advice, however, will also be applicable to product-based businesses or larger companies.
Note that this blog is NOT for the technical entrepreneur starting a software company or the next Facebook.
What topics will I cover?
You can expect articles on topics like:
- How to develop a great, interactive website on the cheap – by yourself (even if you don’t know any HTML).
- How to use LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and other “social networks” for marketing and sales
- Should you start a blog?
- Which blogging is the best fit for you?
- Don’t pay a “Search Engine Optimization” consultant a ton of money to get your website high Google search ranking – learn how to do it yourself with just 30 minutes of up-front investment, plus 30 seconds for each new website page you later add.
- What are the best services to let you give Webinars to your customers?
- What are the best and lowest cost services for data backup, faxing, voice-over-IP telephone, web hosting?
…you get the idea.
Why am I writing this blog?
In the past year, a substantial portion of my consulting business has become helping non-technical entrepreneurs use the full power of the web and online services to grow their business. I enjoy this type of work very much. If you are interested in my help – perhaps a consultation – please contact me.
Secondly, this blog lets me combine a number of my passions: entrepreneurship, writing, blogging, discovering and trying out new technology, social networking, teaching, and helping other entrepreneurs. I expect that writing this blog will be a lot of fun for me.
